Client birthdays: an automatic WhatsApp greeting and a small gift

Even if you forget a client’s birthday, Rezneed doesn’t. For the client it’s just a message, but what it makes them feel is something else: “They remembered me.”

A birthday greeting is the cheapest and most sincere form of marketing. It isn’t an ad or a sales pitch — it’s attention to someone’s special day. But doing it by hand is impossible: who’s going to remember hundreds of clients’ dates of birth and check them every day?

How it works in Rezneed

1. The date of birth is on the client card. You add it when the client first comes in, or at any time on their card.
2. Upcoming birthdays are their own client group. In the Clients section, the “birthday” group fills up automatically, so there’s no list to put together by hand.
3. The greeting goes out by itself. You choose once how many days before the birthday it’s sent, and the message goes out automatically from your own WhatsApp number.
4. In the client’s language. The message is sent in the client’s language; you write the template in your own style.

Turn the greeting into a reason: a small gift

Add a small gift to the greeting — for example, a special discount for their birthday week. That way a simple greeting becomes a reason for the client to come back.

You can set the gift up in Rezneed as a coupon: a fixed amount or percentage off, with a validity period. When the client comes in, the coupon is applied at the till, and the reports show how much revenue the birthday campaign brought in.

With a gift:

A few rules

• Don’t overdo it. One sincere greeting a year is good; three messages in their birthday week is spam.
• Put a time limit on the discount. Something like “this week” or “within 7 days”. An open-ended offer gets put off and forgotten.
• Use their name. The template fills in the client’s name automatically; a generic “Dear client” sounds cold.
